Yay! Time for my annual update! Lucky you.

Graduated on Sunday; definitely can't remember what I did the rest of the week, at least not in order... um... oh, Teusday was shopping and frantically picking up job applications all over the mall, only to find out that I actually WILL be getting a few hours at Harry's and I don't need a second job. Uhh, went to the zoo with mom once or twice, did lunch with the choir girls yesterday, and TODAY I was sick in the morning, and then slept all day, and then I went to work. Woo.

Monday, the 29th, is my 18th birthday!!! And... I'm havin a party of sorts, so let me know if you're up for it. Basically, it's going to be pizza and cake at my house, followed by an outing to see X-men 3, and then maybe some 18-and-over shenanigans. Holla.

Wow, someone hasn't updated in a while... big news babies. Read on:

Disneyworld was primo, loved everything about it, especially the awesome restaurants, and Fabio. Not the Fabio, but a much better looking one, who was our waiter at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma, in Epcot. Ask Dani Devlin about their lasagna.

Didn't get to see Paul while I was down there, BUT (this is the exciting part!) while we were in Florida and since then, we've been texting and calling each other like telephone fiends, trying to figure out a way to get together, so he decided to make a little trip to Lawrence, to visit KU because he's trying to decide between it and UMKC, and I would meet him there for a concert and dinner for an evening. Well, a couple of days before he was supposed to come down from Iowa, he was like, 'Holy crap, I just realized I need a place to stay,' and I, half joking, said 'you can stay in our living room if you want.'

Fast forward to Thursday evening: he got here at about six, while I was teaching a viola lesson, and damn he looked good. We went for a walk to the park and the library, where we hung out for a real long time, and we stopped by Harry's, but not to eat, I just wanted to show him the place, and we had a nice little chat with Pierre, and some of my co-workers. Pierre called Paul my "boy toy." If any of you reading this know Pierre Scharfe, I know you're laughing. Then we went home, and Mom was making dinner, and Paul and I sat down at the piano, and we just sat there for over an hour, talking, and he was playing little bits of songs, and it was really nice; a very memorable moment. Mom, being very sneaky, made a tape of it. All you can really hear is the piano and kitchen noises; you can tell there are voices too, but not what they're saying. What we were saying. Anyway, that was nice, and then we had a lovely dinner with the familia, and we watched most of Rent, had to stop because Garrett was sleeping in the living room - we gave Paul Garrett's room - and I showed Paul the basement, which sounds dirty, but isn't, and we sat in my room for a long time just reminiscing about music camp and stuff. It was all very sweet.

Then Friday, he went to Lawrence in the morning to visit some classes, and I went after school, dropped my viola bow at the shop to be rehaired, and met Paul for dinner at Teller's on Mass street. It's kind of 'our place,' hehe. Then we went to a concert at the Lied center, which was a piano recital by Alexander Kirov, who won the Van Cliburn competition last year. The concert was spectacular, and we both saw a few people we knew -- that happens a lot at classical music events. Haha, and we are the biggest classical music nerds, by far, in our age group at least. So we drove home after the concert, listening to Shostakovich and Debussy, and holding hands. Hehe, this is where I know for sure some of you are going 'Awww! That's so cute!' and it was. very cute.

Saturday morning, he had to leave about eleven-ish, so I got up early and made pancakes, which were pretty good if I may say so, and we tried to finish watching rent before he left--the last scene we saw was Angel's funeral (I'll cover you/ Seasons of love recap), so we were pretty emotional right then, and then he had to leave, so I was kind of a mess, but he wasn't much better, so we a had a nice little kiss-and-cry moment there (just like figure skating!), and that was pretty much it. A lovely weekend, overall; the best in quite a long time I'd say.
